Thanks, indeed my original plan was to try and get OpenWRT on the router.
Will work on the TTL connection when I have some time.
Are you able to provide some more detailed information on how to get the images and merge them?
I have no idea for the moment. If you cannot downgrade through the GUI, you can try flashing and downgrading through uboot.it may work! But I think it is simpler to flash openwrt through TTL than downgrade.
humm, ok just noticed from another post about ssh to this device that the port is 33400.
So I can see SSH is there now, but it's not accepting the root pasword generated from the MAC key of GE4
$ ssh -p 33400 root@192.168.1.1
Warning: Permanently added '[192.168.1.1]:33400' (RSA) to the list of known hosts.
root@192.168.1.1's password:
Permission denied, please try again.
Hi,
Thanks for this explanation, I just bought a TL-ER2260T and am trying to enable SSH following your instructions, but it doesn't seem to work.
After enabling "Troubleshooting Mode" router still not listening on port 22
nmap -PS 192.168.1.1 jj: Thu Nov 16 11:21:44 2023
Starting Nmap 7.94 ( https://nmap.org ) at 2023-11-16 11:21 CET
Nmap scan report for 192.168.1.1
Host is up (0.0027s latency).
Not shown: 997 closed tcp ports (conn-refused)
PORT STATE SERVICE

I managed to find a 1.0.3 online but the router does not accept it via GUI.
Any ideas? Perhaps downgrading only possible via uboot?
